  • OC San Plant No. 1 is the largest wastewater reclamation facility in Orange County, treating an average daily flow of 124 million gallons per day including preliminary, primary, and secondary treatment (activated sludge and trickling filters) as well as solids digestion and dewatering. All secondary effluent from Plant No. 1 is reclaimed by its next-door neighbor, Orange County Water District’s Groundwater Replenishment System (GWRS)—the world’s largest indirect potable reuse facility. Biosolids are hauled away for soil amendments, and the biogas is used on-site by the central generation facility to supply electricity.
  • OC San Headquarters Building recently completed construction and opened its doors in June 2024. The state-of-the-art, three-story building provides 109,000-square feet of office space for over 300 employees with a pedestrian bridge over Ellis Avenue to connect the building to the OC San Plant No. 1. OC San received the 2024 Project of the Year award from the U.S. Green Building Council California, recognizing its implementation of net-zero design features (carbon, energy, heating, shading).
