SCVS May Dinner Meeting 2025
May 15, 2025
Contact Hours:
1.0
Description:
This presentation highlights why detailed data
collection is important during condition assessment and the need for continued
coordination between the design engineer and condition assessment engineer
during the design process. The Yard Piping Program is now finishing Phase 2 and
Phase 3 is underway. Lessons learned during Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction
have identified best practices for documenting observations and will be carried
forward to Phase 3. For Phase 2 specifically, rehabilitation construction was 5
years after the condition assessment and the pipeline condition changed. The
presentation will start with an overview of the assessment approach and
findings for a specific pipeline. Next the design package preparation will be
discussed, including assumed allowances for construction. This will be followed
by construction progress and engineering services provided during construction.
The presentation will end with lessons learned.
