Event Information and Speaker Bios

Partnering for Impact (PFI) for California is a one-day, highly focused, interactive meeting of thought-leaders, practitioners, academics, researchers, and regulators from across the water sector. Now in its fifth year, this annual event brings together an intimate gathering of industry leaders who strive to advance technology and innovation through partnerships that take many different shapes—all focused on improving the policy and regulatory environment to facilitate growth in the water sector.

We invite you to join us for PFI 2025, where we will discuss innovation and collaboration focused on two of the wastewater sector’s more challenging topics: management of Reverse Osmosis Concentrate (ROC) and emissions from nutrient removal.

We’ve structured our workshop to include dynamic speakers, panel discussions, and roundtable interaction designed to foster input through facilitated idea sharing at your table with fellow attendees.

PFI 2025 includes technological leaders from all sectors of the water industry— research, agencies, consultants, and regulators—who are involved in utility partnerships that propel technology and innovation forward. We will discuss a variety of pipelines to partnership, hear about innovation in policies, technologies, and governance—and our closing keynote speaker will facilitate a call-to-action for us all.

Originally, PFI was developed by a team led by Rick Warner and continues as a national movement in cooperation with WEF and other innovative engineering organizations. In California, PFI is organized annually by CASA and CWEA, sponsored by the firms and individuals who are active in CASA’s Engineering and Research Committee. We would like to thank our volunteers and CASA/CWEA staff for their invaluable support.

Please sign up early, as the number of participants is limited. We cannot wait to welcome you to PFI 2025!
