Description:
This module will cover the basics of the wastewater effluent disinfection methods. The methods will cover UV and other disinfectant methods currently used but will focus primarily on chlorination. This module will cover feed methods, maintenance, equipment replacement, dosage requirements and record keeping. This module will also provide a brief overview on the math formulas needed to operate each treatment process. This series of online workshops is designed to assist wastewater operators in California. In addition to providing technical assistance to operators planning on taking the state exam, these workshops would also be beneficial to managers and board members hoping to understand the basics of wastewater treatment. Each module is meant to be part of the whole workshop series, and it is recommended that participants attend all workshop modules, although this is not required. These workshops will count towards Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) that will be recognized by the State Water Resources Control Board. Each two-hour module will count as 0.2 CEU’s, attending the entire series will count as 1.2 CEU’s. Certificates for Contact hours are available through your profile.
