Silicon Valley Clean Water Influent Lift Station: It’s Built. Now What?

Transitioning between construction and operation of new treatment facilities can define success of the project. Startup and commissioning activities require coordination needs that are often overlooked. This can lead to bad experiences or, worse, failed systems. With SVCW’s new $170 million preliminary treatment facilities, emphasis was placed on integrating the contractor’s commissioning efforts with SVCW’s operations. Now that the facility is online, SVCW Operations Director will discuss how he and his Operations team take on the challenge of learning how to operate a new facility while modifying parameters within the existing plant to integrate the two.
