The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has issued a Public Notice announcing the release of the proposed statewide Sanitary Sewer Systems General Order reissuance (proposed General Order) for a 60-day public comment period. Public written comments regarding the proposed General Order are due by 12:00 noon on April 8, 2022 per the submittal instructions on the Public Notice. During the 60-day public comment period: (1) State Water Board staff will hold two virtual staff public workshops, and (2) the State Water Board will hold a Public Workshop. The purpose of the virtual staff workshops is to provide information regarding the proposed General Order so that interested parties understand the content of the document and are able to provide public comments to the State Water Board accordingly. During both staff public workshops, staff will provide the key elements of the proposed General Order and respond to questions. The staff presentation during both workshops will be the same, however the questions and discussion among workshop participants may vary. The State Water Board will hold a virtual Public Workshop on March 15, 2022 for the Board to hear oral comments regarding the proposed General Order. The Public Notice, proposed General Order, and detailed instructions to participate in the February 2022 staff public workshops are available on the Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reduction Program website. Detailed instructions to participate in the State Water Board Public Workshop are included in the Public Notice.
