O&M of Co-digestion and Co-generation at Wastewater Treatment Plants

October 13, 2020
Contact Hours:
Estimated 1.2
Description:

This webinar covers some of the results of the comprehensive Co-Digestion Capacity in California study, including food waste projections, capacity of existing systems to co-digest food waste, infrastructure and investments needed to maximize co-digestion, potential reductions of GHGs, operating data and lessons learned from several case studies. New cogeneration systems include similar lean burn internal combustion engines to produce heat and electricity that is reused on side. The emissions controls are operated to reduce the release of nitrous oxides and volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere. Presenters discuss what went right, what went wrong, and what we've learned navigating the regulatory and technical difficulties throughout the installation and operation of the new cogeneration systems.

1.2 contact hours towards CWEA's Collection System Maintenance certification.
