Description: This is an interactive discussion between state representatives, operators,
supervisors, owners of drinking and wastewater systems, and water industry associations.
This forum is for anyone working in the water industry.

Wastewater Treatment Operator Prep Classes for Grades 1 - 3
Title: An Overview of Primary and Secondary Clarifiers and their Operational
Considerations
Description: Topics will include how a clarifier works, typical mechanical components, types of waste removed, expected removal efficiencies, surface overflow rates, sludge
withdrawal rate, and solids loading rates.
Attendees will learn about clarifier operations and their uses in the primary and secondary processes as well as how to determine proper operation and recognize the signs of poor performance. They will also practice clarifier math and learn how these math problems apply to the operation of a clarifier.

This class will cover Water Treatment Grade T2 and T3 certification practice questions for those taking the upcoming state certification. The T2 and T3 exams are entry level certificates necessary to operate most water treatment plants.

These programs also serve to satisfy the regulatory compliance requirements regarding dead-end flushing, storm water discharge compliance and valve maintenance best management practices.
