The conversation about wastewater surveillance for COVID-19 continues in our monthly, webinar series that is moderated by CASA’s Greg Kester. Karen Mogus with the State Water Resources Control Board describes the Water Board’s interest in wastewater based epidemiology (WBE), its plans to engage with the wastewater sector, and communication with the public health sector. Newsha Ghaeli with Biobot covers an overview of WBE practices, the latest advancements in testing as well as Biobot’s findings, communication and strategies to best utilize the accumulated data. Nancy Stetson with the City of Burlington, VT provides an overview of Burlington’s WBE experience and how the data is helping to shape public policies. Christoph Dobson and Lisa Thompson with the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District discuss Sacramento’s WBE experience, their results so far and the ways Regional San is using the data to engage with local health officials.
