Insight into Groundwater Remediation – Projects and Approaches

Dan Leigh is a California registered Professional Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist located in Walnut Creek, CA.. He has over 35 years of professional experience in soil and groundwater assessment and remediation at contaminated sites across the US and internationally. He has presented papers at international conferences on various subjects including geology, geochemistry, coastal and atoll island hydrogeology, fate and transport modeling, natural attenuation, biological, biogeochemical and chemical remediation of chlorinated and non-chlorinated organics and metals in soil and groundwater.  His primary focus had been development of remedial processes at contaminated sites for the Department of Defense and was the principal investigator for the DOD research project for in situ biogeochemical treatment of chlorinated organics. He currently is the Technology Applications Manager for In Situ, bio and chemical reductive processes for Evonik Active Oxygens, LLC, an international chemical manufacturing company. He continues to develop, enhance and apply technologies for treatment of a variety of contaminants in soil, ground, and surface water. 

He will share some of his past projects and approaches with us and provide some insight into groundwater remediation, which is a career also devoted to preserving clean water in our environment; however, many of our CWEA members may not be familiar with or even aware of this entire field!. 

CEU's will ONLY be given to members who register through Eventbrite prior to the event. Members can watch/participate ingroups - but each person MUST register individually to be eligible for a CEU certificate. Door Prizes will also be drawn at end of presentation - but again - you must be registered and watching to be eligible to win.
