Visit the Linda County
Wastewater Treatment Plant for a presentation on their advanced primary and
secondary treatment demonstration project . This technology development project
involves the demonstration and evaluation of four advanced primary treatment
(APT) and three advanced secondary treatment (AST) technologies at the Linda
County Water District’s (Linda) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Project is
funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC) and executed by Caliskaner
Water Technologies (CWT) with support from multiple equipment manufacturers,
utilities, other engineering and professional institutions.
The project’s main
objective is to demonstrate and evaluate energy and process performances of
different combinations of advanced primary and secondary treatment technologies
compared to conventional systems.
The tour will include
conventional treatment systems and APT and AST systems demonstrated at the
WWTP. The demonstration involves parallel operation of conventional and
advanced treatment systems to draw direct conclusions on treatment performance,
energy savings, and capacity analysis. Demonstration APT systems are: (1) Cloth
Disk Primary Filter, (2) Compressible Medium Biofilter, (3) Microscreen, and
(4) Proteus Filter. Demonstration AST systems are: (1) Microvi , (2) Aerobic
Granular Sludge, and (3) Membrane Aerated Bioreactor.
