wastewater treatment workers are at an increased risk of infection and illness
from water-based pathogens, treatment facilities need to evaluate how job
tasks/activities influence risk. This session will engage academics, industry
and wastewater workers in an interactive discussion of risk assessment and
strategies for mitigation.
After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
the occupational risks associated with pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
key opportunities and challenges to mitigating occupation risk to aerosolized
pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
adaptations to IIPP for the pandemic and other pathogens transmitted through
aerosols to protect wastewater workers.
