Live Webinar:  Free to members and non-members

Contact Hours:  1.8 contact hours towards all CWEA certifications

One year after the Governor’s lock-down order we are all doing our part. On March 19, 2020 when the County and State closed non-essential businesses, environmental professionals overcame major challenges to continue providing essential services.

This month’s COVID-19 update assembles agency leaders to discuss how we are all doing our part.

Samuel Choi, Environmental Lab and Ocean Monitoring Manager, OC San, will discuss the potential of wastewater surveillance data to safely and economically inform public health decisions.

Mahesh Pujari, Laboratory Manager with LA Sanitation & Environment, will provide an overview of studies that are using wastewater-based epidemiology to help understand current risk levels.

Eileen White, Director of Wastewater, East Bay Municipal Utility District, will wrap-up the program by explaining how this knowledge could be used to protect our workforce as agencies plan for the transition back to “normal” work conditions when COVID related health orders are lifted.
